FORGET ME NOT By: Ellie Terry

FORGET ME NOT  By: Ellie Terry
Oh my goodness gracious what a great way to learn about Calliope June. Calliope is just a wonderful girl who has something not all of us are familiar with, she has Tourette's syndrome. Calliope is told not to tell anyone what is wrong with her. How on earth is she supposed to keep something like this a secret. Told in prose this book is a quick read, but one you will want to share with your friends. I probably have already told you too much. But I hope you will read this book. Ages 8 on up, I loved it as an adult. $16.99 Feiwel and Friends

ONE HUNDRED SPAGHETTI STRINGS By: Jen Nails

ONE HUNDRED SPAGHETTI STRINGS  By: Jen Nails
Steffy and her sister lived with their Aunt Gina most of their lives. Their mom was in a car accident and had brain damage, and their dad ran away. One day their dad came back to take care of them. Their dad did not get along with them, and Steffy and her sister missed their aunt. Steffy really likes cooking. She tries to cook old recipes of her mom's to help her mom remember. She decides to be in a cooking contest and wins second place. In the back of the book are a lot of recipes she cooked for her mom. I would recommend this cook especially for kids who like to cook.

A BOY CALLED BAT By: Elana K. Arnold

A BOY CALLED BAT  By: Elana K. Arnold
I have a wonderful endorsement for this book. My grandson Aidan age 10 said it is his new favorite book. I have tried for months to get him to read it, but he was too busy reading other things.
Aidan would not write the review for he said I already read it.
Bixby is nicknamed Bat, he loves animals and his mother is a veterinarian. When mom bring home a kit, Bat wants to keep him. Kit skunks are adorable, but will that really happen or will he be sent into the wild. Find out the great adventures. Your children will love this light funny summer read.

CHESTER AND GUS By: Cammie McGovern

CHESTER AND GUS  By: Cammie McGovern
Told from the perspective of the Chester the dog, and I might say a highly intelligent one! Ever since Chester was born he was told he was going to be a service dog. They want Chester to go to school with Gus to help him cope with his day, except the teacher in the next room is against Chester. Will she be the reason that Chester will not be allowed at school anymore. Will Gus be able to manage. A powerful read that all children need to read.

WORLDS GREATEST DETECTIVE By: Caroline Carlson

WORLD'S GREATEST DETECTIVE   By: Caroline Carlson
The World's Greatest Detective is an amazing book. It begins by introducing us to Toby Montrose. He has had a difficult life. When his parents died he was passed around the family "like a sack of potatoes." Uncle Gabriel is the only family member left to care for Toby, and if Toby is not on his best behavior, he'll be sent to the orphanage (bom, bom, bom!). Already Toby fears being sent to the orphanage because of all of Uncle Gabriel's unpaid bills, so when he hears about a contest hosted by the world's greatest detective, Hugh Abernathy, with money as the prize, he's in. Unfortunately, just before the contest starts, Hugh Abernathy is found dead! All the detectives start to search for the culprit. Will Toby, and his new friend, Ivy, be able to find the culprit first?
It took me a few days to get into this book, but then it grabbed hold of me, and it was painful to put it down even for just a few minutes. I fell in love with he characters and enjoyed having my own list of suspects. The book was funny at times, and it got very intense. I would whoop for joy when they had a success, and groan when there was a fail.
I give this book 4 and 1/2 stars( I had to knock off a half star because of the searing in the book).

LOST FROST GIRL By: Amy Wilson

LOST FROST GIRL  By: Amy Wilson
Intriguing is the word to describe this modern day fairy tale.  Owl, that is her name, is just an ordinary girl, or so she seems. Her mother after all named her Owl. But one day she starts seeing a thin layer of ice crystals on her hands. She is scared, and the one person she really needs to talk to is her best friend, Mallory. Mallory parents are just newly separated and she is having trouble herself. Mallory wants Owl to find out who her father is. Owl tries and her mother says his name is Jack Frost. What would you do if you father wasn't exactly human? I am giving way to much information about the story. You must read this for  yourself. It won't be out till November 7, 2017. I can hardly wait to sell it to you. Katherine Tegen Books Ages 8-12 $16.99
