JOPLIN, WISHING By: Diane Stanley

JOPLIN, WISHING  By: Diane Stanley
Joplin, Wishing is an amazing funny, and yet sincere story, all about a girl called Sofie trapped for about 300 years in a platter, bid to do everyone who owns hers wishes. She wishes to go back home, and though people have tried to set her free, the one who entrapped Sofie in the first place is the only one who can free her. When Joplin, an eleven year old girl who has no friends, finds the tray and wishes Sofie to be her friend, finds out about Sofie's entrapment, she and another new friend, Barret, are determined to free her. They must find her imprisoner to free her forever.
A great book, full of funny and sad pieces. Before I was halfway in, I was thinking that Joplin, Wishing would soon be part of my collection. (Note: I feel like it would be good to add in Joplin telling her mom she is sorry for lying to her about Sofie.) Ages 8-12 $16.99 Harper
