AUDACITY JONES TO THE RESCUE By: Kirby Larson
Audie is an orphan who lives at Maisie's School for Wayward Girls. She rather likes it there and has a good group of friends. But her favorite room in the house is the punishment room. She goes there often and the other girls feel sorry for her. They don't want to ever go to that room. But Audie doesn't tell them that the room is really a library with a great fireplace, ginger cake and hours of reading.
Then Audie is asked to go on a trip with the Commodore, she thinks she is in for a good time, but things aren't working out that way. He has a driver named Cypher and he is rather cold and won't answer any of her inquiries.
Audie sends many postcards back to her friends at the school. They figure out she is in trouble and they begin a plan. Little do they know that Audie is about to involve President Taft to help her out. A great historical fiction that will keep you wanting more. $16.99 Ages 8-12 Scholastic
